Booksmart: super fun, specific, vivacious, and was way weirder than I was expecting (which I love). Directed with incredible flair. Script makes mostly right choices but needs to focus on some of the set-up / pay-offs. Also feels like it shoulda been a private school movie? But-

I really can't recommend it high enough for that specificity. You'll see what I mean, but it breathes organic life into the kinds of stories that are usually pushed to the side, but with such care, and it all results in a couple of scenes that are massive homeruns.

Talking to friends and we're all just glowing about it. One re: the editing and the way stylistic choices comes out of character not the other way around. And re: editing, not to mention it's a tight 1 hour and forty minutes!
