Plus (endgames spoilers) how much more interesting would it have been, dramatically-speaking, if within the narrative Hulk had to *get* to that point to do the snap, we see the catharsis, and Huffalo is the final last act "reward" so to speak. Woulda brought down the house.https://twitter.com/superwoos/status/1128420719157829633 …

Sure, but we’ve already established a precedent for the Banner/Hulk relationship changing offscreen? So far, whenever there’s been a significant amount of in-universe time between appearances, the dynamic between the two personalities has significantly shifted in SOME way.

Compared to the other characters in the universe, they tend to change the MOST when not onscreen. I agree we should have the resolution to the relationship on screen, but once you decide 1) we want to do Professor Hulk and 2) we want to jump 5 years, that can be hard to square.

I'd say this is also why The Good Place's "Dance Dance Resolution" never feels rushed despite how much chronology it zooms through -- the character and plot beats maintain a comprehensible pace. Lots of time passes in the first act, but the actual arc has all the space it needs.
