One of the biggest ongoing problems I have when discussing The MCU is how many people take the lip-service of a character's statements at face value, often evoking a momentary feeling / goal, while the overall dramatic text does not back that up lip-service whatsoever :/

Its kind of shown! Seeing her SO HAPPY between scenes just because she gets to be near him is showing. (I mean, I agree! but it could be EVEN WORSE)

"I've successfully privatized world peace!" is such a frightening phrase and I've seen so many people cheer for it.

Particularly because the point of the film is how bad an idea that is.

100%. It's why so many Star Wars prequel defenders vehemently dislike the sequel trilogy because, in a weird way, they've been trained by Lucas to think "character says exactly what they're thinking and/or feeling at any given moment" = good dramatic storytelling.

I also blame the influence of a certain kind of anime, where characters either talk about their motivations to each other, or internal-monologue to the audience. It works well for cheap animation but real actors can do much more.

You're saying.... The prequels weren't an epic love story just because the characters said they were in love?
