Yeah, I got that. I understand that those uncomfortably racist aspects of the era and culture are inextricably tied to the aesthetic that Cuphead uses. I also understand if they don't want to directly tackle and comment on the issue.

Not tackling it but still using the art style is still sending a message, though. I think that's the real problem--attempting to be apolitical in art is still a political statement. Everything you do in art is going to communicate something, intentionally or not.
