Are you saying the inherency wasnt sufficientlty acknowledged in the game itself? Or by the media surrounding it?

So it WAS sufficiently acknowleged? My point is when does a depiction of inherent racism (eg the N word in Huck Finn) become so overt as to require some kind of in-game(a disclaimer, or narrative framing of games themes?) acknowledgement. (eg Huck is a reflection of society)

In otherwords, how might Cupheads design be changed to actually wrestle with the racist implications of its artstyle, given that it was ignored, and that depictions of racism are in the purview of games and art?
