What's great about TLJ is that all these 'risky' choices felt unexpected but made perfect sense. If Luke really had been waiting for Rey to rescue him from the island and then gone on an ass-kicking Jedi adventure it would have been a poorer film. Same. Dreading this cycle as like half the people I follow on Twitter hate the film (mostly conservatives interestingly) and are now constantly taking swipes at it.
