Yeah I think most people will agree with you about where it starts. I loved the movie dearly but the opening fell kinda flat.

This is the whole thing, people take away how something "feels" but I spend my life talking about dramatic mechanics and that opening isn't a feeling, it's not knowing what the fuck you are doing. And I'm so tired of this.

Even Black Panther almost has this problem (the movie doesn't "start" properly until T'Challa's coronation), but that opening in Oakland did a ton of the emotional legwork.

I'd argue that movie was also much better and pulling you into the emotion and psychology of the character dynamics, but yeah it also the "information" and tease problem
