Watching MAGNOLIA for the first time in maybe 18 years. Is this the most self-indulgent movie of all time?

His father died and he clearly keeps trying to put more and more and more into it this larger web of familial understanding of the people in his life, and he doesn't know what to do with the magnitude of his feelings.

But there's no sickening ethical myopia in the themes that I see in actual indulgent movies. It's maybe a little naive, but it's honest. And far more importantly, it is kind... Anyway. Two cents and what not.
