i'm realizing I should have clarified my main point is that sam smorkle's are 1000 times more interesting than posturing faceless grim dark affectations that are meant to be mysterious.

so true. About half past ever ago a friend of mine ran a Star Wars game and we derailed his plot so hard this way that one of those doorbell droids from ROTJ ended up being his new villain.
