really good, really useful. 'cinematic' in the gaming industry seems like its getting used more like 'tracking shot', i.e. shorthand for 'in this scene/moment we are going to take agency away from you and make you watch something'

I teach (mostly) beginners filmmaking. It's so complicated that I dont begrudge them those "look at me!!!" film school shots. Experimenting and making messy mistakes can only help grow. But This is the first time I've seen tilt = pan. ? Truck??

This is a good article, but the guy who used to write in all-caps Hulk grammar warning about the problems with layering on one singular style in an entire work is pretty rich
