I grew up here for 22 years. Boston is the most insecure chip on the shoulder chest pounding group of white men in the world. It took me YEARS to overcome this, even still.

This isn't to paint LA (or anywhere else in america) as some wonderful perfect land. These problems are everywhere and in so many deep ways. But it's better there. And Boston needs to face it's deep, horrible, myopic, ugly complex. It just fucking does.

I personally haven't had problems drinking in Cambridge, so I might recommend The People's Republik. I haven't been to LA yet, but I'm thinking it's going to be incredibly refreshing after living here most my life.

I wanna defend my city but can’t turn a blind eye. It’s true. Not all Bostonians, sure, but too many.

Grew up here. 22 years. It's so myopic and awful and brutal. It's why I don't like coming home.

Better bars, better food, better people up here around Lawrence/Lowell.

As a Bostonian, where were you? There are a lot of bozos, but there’s still clearly plenty of good people there leading to smart and fair politicians being elected. Probably best not to generalize.
-
Oh sure, it's somewhere ELSE clearly. Not clearly within the guy who can't reckon with the fact that his city has a major problem and can't even handle the notion of a generalization headed his way!
