Do you know why lots of Millenials watch things on their phones? Because they're poor and phones are expensive (yet absolutely critical to their life experience) so apologies for the fact they can't own big TVs, or often even laptops.

A movie tix in NYC is about $15. My sisters and I went to see “Widows” on Tuesday because of the matinee special. I’m not sure why people are suddenly bad at math

Plus phones are great for vertical content. I'm currently experimenting with it on my youtube and I quite like it. But the economic value of this tweet stands. I just can't really think about that right now or I might just break.

We can pay down our phones monthly. Imagine trying to suggest a monthly pass to the theatres. Cue the guy getting thrown out of the window meme.

That existed. It was moviepass. People used it so much that the company literally couldn't even believe it, tried to stop non-existent "fraud," then didn't have the ability to pay the theaters for people using it, so it shut down.

Smaller TVs exist, aren't very expensive and are better than phones.

Can't take them on the go, can't use them nearly as flexibly as phones, and they aren't a must-have like smartphones are nowadays. I like TV and laptops and whatnot but you can't blame someone for prioritizing a smartphone.

PSA since I got sick of paying $$$$ for a phone, the Moto G5 is only $150 and does all the things

That, and also millennial life and entry-level positions involve a lot of downtime where you are not necessarily in front of a computer or smart TV.

Or our laptops are so old they crash on most video playing services and replacing them is too expensive
