The best thing I’ve read on Lee since his passing. Thanks for this.

This is the article that's been burning in my mind since yesterday. So many people are simplifying his legacy in a way that reflects issues in comics today and glosses over his complex life. Thank you for writing this.

Yep, thanks Hulk. I've been thinking of Kirby and Ditko since yesterday. Love the Beatles comparison.

Amen. Jack put the clobber in It's Clobberin' Time! Used to copy his panels. Sold my '60s Marvels to help pay for law school

With each mention of Stan Lee, I can't help but think to myself about the other creators - Jack Kirby especially - how complicated legacy is, and how credit is rarely, if ever, just one person's. I want to thank you for putting it into words.

Superb and much needed, Hulk. As a huge Kirby fan myself, there's always been that complication w/ Smilin Stan. And my favourite Marvel, Spidey had an essence that left when Ditko did. But none of us would be talking about this if not for Stan I suppose

God damn man, I needed to hear that, thanks. Any place I can read up on Kirby, both as an artist and a person? Man sounds fascinating.

Since you mentioned Bob Kane in a piece about Stan Lee's overshadowing his collaborators, it would be remiss of me not to inform you that he was a worse credit hog than Stan.pic.twitter.com/ZJTvkZenGT

On the writing side, Bill Finger was responsible for most of the things we associate with Batman. On the art side, Kane used ghost artists like Dick Sprang and Sheldon Moldoff.
