Can’t say I agree with a pro nationalist sentiment (The article pretty much described some of the things that make me disagree with this particular political idea) but I really, really don’t agree with the idea of boycotting the the Times because I disagree with an article.

Its TIME, its owned by the koch brothers, and you dont EVER publish a pro nationalist article unless you are trying to normalize it.

I‘m sure that was the intention of the article (the title isn’t exactly subtle) but I can’t say that I didn’t enjoy reading about this perspective on current politics (even though I strongly disagree with it). It’s highly disagreeable but I wouldn’t call it sinister.

Literally trying to deliberately usher in and normalize fascism isn't sinister to you?

Yes, that is Sinister. That being said, despite the fact that history has shown us that fascism and nationalism can go hand in hand (I know that facism is basically a form of nationalism) nationalism in and of itself (something I still don’t like) isn’t inherently fascist.

There were two or so ideas in the article that I thought were slightly sinister but they were less „3rd Reich“-sinister and more „I get where you’re coming from but please don’t“ sinister. That being said, I kinda like reading things I disagree with

The "peaceful enlightened centrists" are getting us killed (literally no more life, dead) by giving a voice to this nonsense by means of allowing it to keep getting said over and over again.

@alebrelle Sorry for getting you killed I guess. I just like free speech and reason and stuff. (also I‘m slightly more libertarian than I‘m centrist (perhaps a classical liberal (I don’t really know))).2 replies 0 retweets 0 likes
I don't even know where to start with this. So let's just go with "i advise not doing any of this."

„doing any of this“ meaning: - being respectful when disagreeing with nationalist ideas -being okay with (highly) disagreeable, right wing articles existing -being a centrist/ classical liberal/ libertarian hybrid -all of the above
