Watched a few people playing today and a lot of them had the consensus that the opening hours are very rough but past that they got more and more used to everything

You should not have to get 'used' to a games mechnics, at least, not one set in as well worn a path as a sandbox shooter rpg. The game should teach you the mechanics, in an intuitive way, then hit you with the fun while doing so. These are all 'improvements' over 1?

So many people seem to want open world games to be The Matrix & it’s insufferable
-
They don’t seem to understand that “realism” is all slight of hand

This is my biggest fear in general. I enjoy Darksiders 2 a lot more than a lot of open world games. Hell, the last open world game (by release) I really loved was Saint's Row 4.

This combined with the terrible treatment of Rockstars workforce makes me think I'll sit this one out. Maybe replay some RD1 instead.

Oh come on, I just picked this up, and RDR1 is one of my all time favourite games...

Westsorld the video game, except the mindfuckery are clunky controls, slow player movement, and eons of pre-fast travel horse riding. Big, beautiful, and boring.
