of course movies have always been provocative. however, things used to be well written, wrapped in allegory, and packaged with a kiss. things are more blatant and less artful now. compare the Matrix to a blockbuster today. 100 deeper meanings but not one felt "staged"

i am offended that you assume i am just now "seeing" the social implications of this art form. i have been reviewing and disseminating this medium for decades. All the best movies and shows have strong sociopolitical ideals. but it is nice to watch a purely fun movie sometimes
