Was Kubrick too crazy on The Shining set? I think about this a lot

Same. I *like* his final products fine but whenever I hear about directors being obnoxious and borderline cruel for the sake of a masterpiece, I legit roll my eyes so hard I hear blood rushing through my skull.

Want to assume by "crazy," you mean "abusive." In which case AMEN. But there are so many "crazy" artists who are conscientious about being good, considerate collaborators. Hoping this industry, if any, might have a little more understanding for us.

Taika Waititi seems to be the right kind of crazy.

I've never watched any Jodorowsky, but always wanted to. Then filmstruck got it, then I read a great piece about him/psycho westerns, then I saw a man and artist who sees his art to be more important than the rape of a woman who he employed. Now I plan to never watch a Jodorowsky
