It’s just a contingent of the “Respect the legacy!” Disney park fans. The same type of people who complained about GOTG replacing California’s Tower of Terror, even though the designer of California’s ToT will be the first to tell you it was inferior to Florida’s.

Sorry, I miswrote. When I said designer, I meant then-senior Vice President Imagineer Tony Baxter. He did not specifically work on the ride, but he did have that position at the time.

Probably the purists that say "walt never had alcohol in the park"

Also, technically Disney already has a liquor license for the entire park, not just Club 33 — which they make use of for special events.

I kind of like that there’s no booze for sale inside of Disneyland (except at Club 33). It’s sweet. Of course, people do smuggle it in, but generally it cuts down on the rowdy behavior that sometimes erupts around Paradise Pier in California Adventure.

It’s mostly Walt fetishism. Walt didn’t do it that way so it must not be done.

Listen,
#DisneyIsABusiness, but for many of us, it's the same exact "presentation legacy" concept that Film Twitter complains about shitty movie projectionism at Gigaplexes, direct-to-Netflix, or $94 popcorn. Industry didn't need booze, theme be damned - it's a profit move.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

No need. Down margaritas and then go to the other park. 10/10 would recommend.
