I respectfully disagree. I find "in media res" as an effective way for the story to hit the ground running. Personal preference, but I believe all great movies should hit the ground running as I HATE slow-burns.

movie from the start. Most good movies do this. It's not hard. The reason slow burns feel tedious is precisely because there's no conflict. It misses the point of writing. Almost EVERY scene should have conflict, regardless of intensity.
