McCain The Politician was an inherent contradiction. He chose Palin on a reckless whim but then was one of the only people to try and keep her populism in check. He purported to be an aisle crosser, and yet he presided over one of the more racist, backwards states in the nation.

Cannot and will not deny that Arizona has a history that can be described as outright bigoted, but there are a LOT of people there who keep hammering blue but all the seniors who spend only the winter months here (and still vote in the Midwest state they are from) hose the rest.

Right. Every state has progressive people. Of course. To not acknowledge the overall approach of the state is to be in denial about the states identity.
