"Removal of choice means removal of ethics." I believe that this is very deliberate by companies that need employees to actually implement unethical policies without feeling unethical themselves. 'You're not responsible for taking their home, the algorithm is.'

That being said Economist are in favor of “price gouging” as a market motivator; if gas is selling for $20/gal someone is going to be motivated to get a truck there. This
supply which drives prices back down.
So, would you rather have shit over priced, or sold out?

This is why I'm always so mad at YouTube abdicating responsibility every time their algorithm is caught demonetizing LGBT content. "We didn't write that into it!" as though that means it isn't a real issue that is a direct result of the way they did write it, intentional or not.
