Hannah Gadsby's Nanette is a towering achievement. One that inspired me to 1) dive into its impeccable structure and 2) sit with a great deal of reflectionhttp://observer.com/2018/08/film-crit-hulk-hannah-gadsby-rejects-the-premise/ …

I can appreciate your analysis & reflections, plus inclusion of your own story of identity discovery, arguably the best part of your piece, but PLEASE rewrite & delete the spoilers. You've "long-quoted" the most poignant moments, potentially ruining it for any virgin viewer. 1/2

At the very least label your writing with "spoiler alert." The powerful punches & arc of the storytelling in Nanette should be experienced as Gadsby intended, in her voice. It's worse than giving up a punchline in advance since she is offering so much more than that. 2/2

Criticism for anything that isn't an ahead-of-release review, especially essays that come a month after release and involve rigorous analysis and breakdown must inherently involve spoilers. This is what criticism is. You are literally the only one who has said this.
