Totally agree! But things don't have to be equivalent to both be bad. Like, imagine you work in an ER. You have to triage. You treat a gunshot wound before you treat a sprained ankle. But you don't tell the person with the sprained ankle that their injury isn't real. Right?
It was literally a lesson in having empathy for comparative plight and not putting your shit above someones plight in that moment! to which you said WHAT ABOUT MY PLIGHT.
