that people don't read long things without understanding that long things actually do quite well, they just don't have an attention span, then gives you writing advice from their less successful position, then tells you how story plotting works even though they are sports writer.

Which is not to say that success or working in a different industry mean someone can't offer genuine insight, of course not! So many do. It's just part of the framing with everything else with this kind of toxic approach to engaging with others.

None of this actually bothers me (it's twitter-town) I just want to point out how many people out there like to loudly and confidently stomp through life with a remarkable lack of care for what their loud stomping does to others, and more how it limits themselves and their growth

And I'll put it this way, all the times I've loudly stomped into something I didn't understand? Twitter told me. And I listened, and often realized my mistake. And tried to do better.
