The personal responsibility shtick does one thing and one thing only for someone struggling with addiction. Mark you out as someone who can't be confided in or trusted.
Of course you're allowed. Literally no one is saying you aren't allowed. Your obsession with the idea that you aren't allowed belies whatever point you hope to make. With that, I am allowed to inform you that your opinion has no basis in fact, medicine, or what's actually helpful

Just because everyone is entitled to their opinion does not mean everyone is entitled for their opinion to be right. People are being strident about this issue because what you said does not reflect what ACTUALLY helps people with addiction. If you hope ppl get help, then help.
