This, but I'd take it further: The entire movie was a storytelling disaster, and the Kylo/Rey scenes were the only saving grace that even made it watchable. Entire film was a train wreck in terms of execution.https://twitter.com/HannahGraceLong/status/1022305730706190336 …

Oof. Love your Jazz takes but this is just wrong, man! As someone posted below, read
@FilmCritHULK column. IMHO, Last Jedi might end up being considered the best Star Wars film ever. http://observer.com/2018/07/film-crit-hulk-the-beautiful-ugly-and-possessive-hearts-of-star-wars/ …2 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -

1. My stock response to tweets like this: There's no such thing as being wrong about something that's 100% subjective. 2. Sorry I don't have time to read like 15k words, but my criticisms aren't based on any other commentary. I've seen virtually none. Not a mainstream fan.

I tried to get through parts of that article (it's incredibly jumbled and long-winded, no offense meant) - none of my criticisms were touched on. I just don't think it's a well-made/written film.(BTW I agree that the VERY BROAD overall direction it ended with was fine).

I'll happily accept long-winded, but the different sections all come together to an end point. And If I had a dime for every time someone said something wasn't well-made / written but had no idea how to explain why / what good writing is in comparison, I would have many dimes.

And in you say none of your criticisms are touched on, but I literally EXACTLY touch on your aforementioned criticisms re: the point of poe / rose / finn, etc. Next time, read the freaking article before you decide what is and isn't in it. Because this is inane.

Lollll ok bro I said "no offense meant" but if you want to get snarky....you wrote like 2,500 words on "here's why it's okay to not be mad about Star Wars" before you even got into your point, but you want to get bitchy at ME for not reading on after that? Lmaoooooo

It's a writer's job to make his content interesting for readers. Maybe yours is for the biggest Star Wars diehards on earth - I'm not that, and it wasn't. It's SIXTEEN THOUSAND WORDS, dude. Are you seriously ripping a casual fan for not going all the way through that?

Thanks for your conventional wisdom, and I genuinely don't like tooting my own horn but the articles are damn popular and can get millions of readers. The "people don't read long articles thing" is an utter myth.

Cool, good for them. There are millions of hardcore Star Wars fans, so I'm not shocked. I'm not one of them, and I had 0 interest in your article after the 2,500 word intro that said the same thing over and over. I said that politely...and you attacked me. Great stuff.

No you didn't. You said the article didn't address your concerns. It did. You were wrong. Don't pretend this about anything but your lazy assumptions.

It's because you said something else incorrect. On top of it, I'm actually not anymore and have a weekly column. But ok.
