So I have just watched Nanette. There's so much to say, from the achingly necessary fury, to the complete breakdown of the inherent problem of comedy, but it's also one of the best examples (and analysis) of the power of storytelling... just floored.

It reminds me a lot of what Douglas Adams said about his "breakup" with comedy, his frustration with the "comic POV" What we'd today call "irony" or "snark"

He talked about how when he was growing up and it really did feel like Official Media was stern and po-faced and the Church Ladies really were waiting to pounce on you for blaspheming or cursing And a little sprinkle of anarchy from Monty Python was like water in the desert
