Again, so much of this comes down to language. I don't know how to debate someone about character arcs if we can't even agree on what character arcs *are* Does that make sense? Also, I'm kind of tired of the over the overwhelming need to debate. I wrote the essay so I could stop.

Well I agree that no one should feel compelled to debate. However, I don't think that the arguments and debates simply cease just because you wrote an article and deem the argument to now be over. That seems a little arrogant of you, to be honest.

If you are so confident that these are misunderstandings and tired criticisms then why not just do it? Outside of time constraints and logisitical concerns like that, of course. If you want to help put this whole TLJ thing to bed as per your article, a solid debate might help.

No. It really wouldn't. It would require me to sit down and for 45 minutes to go back and explain the basic notion of what what a character arc is and how it functions before we ran out of time and got to actual meat of discussion.
