disrespectful to everyone, from Lucas, to Hamill, to the fans, and completely unnecessary to boot, what an absolute tragic shame, I feel intuitively that J.J's outline for 8 and 9 would have been far more respectful, logical, cohesive, and satisfying for the majority of fans.

I feel like this film said something absolutely beautiful about who Luke became, and why, and ultimately became again. We are all faulty, even masters. Often, especially masters. But alas, be well.

Luke was faulty and overcame those faults, that is the purpose of development, and the heroes journey, and spiritual progression, to be knocked back to square one is just unrealistic and pointless. It was a depressing end to something many had waited over 30 years to see. Pity...pic.twitter.com/P6AKidohVS

You really didn't read the article if you're bringing all this up. This isn't about character logic. You wanted something indulgent about what a super master Luke was so it would make you feel powerful. You've as much as said so. Please just be honest.

Not at all, I just wanted a logical and respectful continuation from the previous 7 films, I absolutely did not want "super power Luke blowing up AT-AT's" or anything of that nature. Just a wise Jedi, exploring the depths of the Force at the 1st Jedi Temple on Ach-To, an Obi-Wan.

I'll leave it here cause I gotta get to work. But, even if that's a more noble action for the character to be behaving in, is that no less a vicarious action you want to place yourself within? To go deeper, why is that portrayal something you want? Why does the current irk you?

I’m always amazed by the “Rian Johnson ruined Luke” argument. Did you see episode 7? Luke had already abandoned the resistance and stood by while an entire Star system was wiped out. What other choice is there besides “he’s an angry hermit now”

Luke went into self-exile in shame after his student/nephew Ben Solo falls to the darkside through Snoke's manipulation, kills his students and destroys his temple. Luke retreats to the first Jedi temple on Ach-To to contemplate and study the mysteries of the Force, and.. cont>

And learn more about it and the history of the Jedi, after years of meditation and learning Rey finds him through the map retrieved from Lor San Tekka/BB-8, and after some reluctant, agree's to train Rey, and I mean proper training, spiritual and mental, as well as physical.

The problem is that's just another power fantasy, only it's one where the indulger isn't cooler but smarter, zen-er, and more wise than everyone. But this is all getting a little sea-lion-y in my mentions, so I'm going to politely ask we stop.

Apologies Hulk, I forget I can manually untag people from posts. Was just responding to a question, I don't like to ignore people or be impolite, will make sure not to pester you with any more notifications. Cheers!
