I read your article, the thing is Luke had completed his heroic and spiritual journey over 3 films, overcoming all obstacles, physical, mental, and spiritual, to become a Master in the true sense of the word, he saved the spirit of his Father in the face of almost certain..cont>

I'm sorry the film did not make you feel as powerful as you wanted to feel.

disrespectful to everyone, from Lucas, to Hamill, to the fans, and completely unnecessary to boot, what an absolute tragic shame, I feel intuitively that J.J's outline for 8 and 9 would have been far more respectful, logical, cohesive, and satisfying for the majority of fans.

I feel like this film said something absolutely beautiful about who Luke became, and why, and ultimately became again. We are all faulty, even masters. Often, especially masters. But alas, be well.

Luke was faulty and overcame those faults, that is the purpose of development, and the heroes journey, and spiritual progression, to be knocked back to square one is just unrealistic and pointless. It was a depressing end to something many had waited over 30 years to see. Pity...pic.twitter.com/P6AKidohVS

You really didn't read the article if you're bringing all this up. This isn't about character logic. You wanted something indulgent about what a super master Luke was so it would make you feel powerful. You've as much as said so. Please just be honest.

Not at all, I just wanted a logical and respectful continuation from the previous 7 films, I absolutely did not want "super power Luke blowing up AT-AT's" or anything of that nature. Just a wise Jedi, exploring the depths of the Force at the 1st Jedi Temple on Ach-To, an Obi-Wan.

I'll leave it here cause I gotta get to work. But, even if that's a more noble action for the character to be behaving in, is that no less a vicarious action you want to place yourself within? To go deeper, why is that portrayal something you want? Why does the current irk you?

Again, don't think about logic, because there's logic behind ALL these possible character choices. Again, we can believe that's what was happening in that time between. But why is Luke being crushed by his failure so hard to take?

Because it's a spit in the face of a 40 year built story, it was not the way it was heading, Rian telegraphed everything to us clumsily, "This isn't going to go the way you think", "Let the past die, kill it if you have to", his intentions are clear and they honestly shock me.
