Again, don't think about logic, because there's logic behind ALL these possible character choices. Again, we can believe that's what was happening in that time between. But why is Luke being crushed by his failure so hard to take?

Because it's a spit in the face of a 40 year built story, it was not the way it was heading, Rian telegraphed everything to us clumsily, "This isn't going to go the way you think", "Let the past die, kill it if you have to", his intentions are clear and they honestly shock me.

Because I have deep respect and love for Star Wars and George Lucas, and for it to be manipulated like a cheap plaything is just disrespectful and lunacy, you keep talking as if I am projecting, I just wanted what was right for the characters and the Star Wars saga. Take it easy.

I’m always amazed by the “Rian Johnson ruined Luke” argument. Did you see episode 7? Luke had already abandoned the resistance and stood by while an entire Star system was wiped out. What other choice is there besides “he’s an angry hermit now”
