I agree with 99% of this article. The only thing that bothers me is labelling “white male” - I dream of the society and debate where we don’t label people based on race and sex anymore. It’s about dropping all these behind not to just stand on the other side.

We want this because being a white male comes with so much privilege. And i am one. But to erase race is to erase and ignore the hardship of other races, and more specifically, the unique hardship of each as it pertains to their experience.

Intersectionalism is about the opposite of erasure, its about seeing, understanding, and listening, so that we can build bridges <3

And I think these need to be appreciated and understood. Just never used to undermine anyone.

Right, but unlabeling is not the answer to harmony. Love is. Dont worry about being labeled. Dont erase identity, embrace all labels.

I wholeheartedly agree. It just rubs me the wrong way when I see all kinds of people demonstrating the behaviour you wrote about but only one side take a hit.

"only one side take a hit," false. It's "a hit" here in the piece, meanwhile it's unarmed black folks being gunned down by police, it's unarmed Latinx refugees being called MS-13 at the border, it's Arabic folks being -banned- from travel white folks are fine after this piece.

The only thing I wanted to say in my comments is that I’m up for fighting against racism, sexism, inequality, bullying but not by finding a new enemy, just by fighting these negative behaviours in all races, sexes and classes.

Start with yourself.

Shall we do this together then?

Sigh* it is hard to reflect on oneself...Better to get others to make you feel better by asking them to unlabel your race...own it, don’t run away
