It's such a beautiful practice. And so much more valuable and real than a simple prayer with someone. Same purpose... to center someone's soul... but Mr. Rogers did things in ways that had a concrete impact on each person he interacted with. Amazing.

Anthony Breznican's story about his encounter with him is the all-timer for me because it is such a clear indicator of who Fred Rogers was. Rebecca Swan grew up in Pittsburgh so the show and its stars were part of his physical childhood. I envy him that greatly.

Oh ive read and its perfect. I grew up with fred. I was a latchkey kid looking after a grandma with alzheimers. Everyday he let me know it was okay to live in a world of stories. He was an anchor.
