I still disagree with your assessment of the Vader scene in Rogue One, and I may be wrong, but it seems to me you are judging the scene not on how it fits in to the movie, but how some of bad "fan" reactions to it. Are we to judge a movie or scene by how badly some interpret it?

For me the scene works because it encapsulates the movie in a small quick effective sequence. A small "unimportant" group manages to outmaneuver a violent unstoppable force. They don't have any "powers" but manage to out maneuver Vader. Vader fails in this scene /1

Totally relieved I'm not the only person who thought the Vader massacre scene in Rogue One was needless. The film was perfect enough without it.
