Been over this quite a bit lately. Mainly the comedy was so incredibly awful and ill timed, I can hardly get through it. I mean it is like a 5th grader making fart jokes in the middle of the best scenes. TLJ undoes all the set up in TFA. Luke’s treatment is dissatisfying. On & on

It is a train wreck from beginning to end. It has few redeeming qualities. It is bloated and way too long. Almost all of the character arcs fall flat. And it is the most fan divisive movie by far. That is my subjective take.

Empire was quite divisive when it first came out. And it's not like Han and leia's storyline goes anywhere in that movie and yet fans love it

Hmm. I’m not sure how you can say that it goes nowhere. Their arc is a third of the movie and their growing romance is one of my favorite parts. IMO, the difference is in how it is written. Well scripted and the comedic elements are situational and not slap-sticky.

The last hour of the last jedi is brilliant. Rey and Ren with snoke. The Salt Planet, Luke facing off with the first order.

I wouldn’t call it brilliant. Rey and Ren are by far the most interesting part of TLJ, but even their arc ended abruptly. IMO they could have walked off together and you have a huge cliff hanger into IX. Crait was Hoth. I saw a rehash of Empire except the Resistance is dead. :(

And return of the jedi was a Ripoff of A New Hope, and the Prequels were a disgusting mess.

Hmm. Not sure I follow on the ROTJ comment. I have never heard that criticism. The prequels have their problems (stiff dialogue, over reliance on CGI) but still fit nicely in the universe overall.

For the love of fucking hell take us off this thread like we asked, you are being beyond insolent, and big surprise, it reflects how you watch movies.
