I guess I need to watch this, but I worry that I’m not ready. Even Louie got too real for me sometimes.

I am so grateful I got into it when I did. It is a piece of media that has *shaped* me, for the better (I think).

I think for me, as I progress through the show, its how the main characters are looking for validation and a sense of peace in a world that wants to break them and destroy them...and how they even might sabotage others just to get that...

I enjoy it, and it's honest in a way, but I find takes like this disturbing. Too many TV shows treat misanthropy as an inevitability. It shouldn't be normalized or glorified, and doesn't reflect reality. I'm sick of the Seinfeldification of humanity. It's the height of privilege.

This one's enjoyable because it does try to present their world in context, and I admit I'm still in S2 catching up, but shows like this - even when done well - can never be truly great. It's specific to a white, able-bodied man's POV. It has to ignore a lot to make it work.

That time Todd of all people finally let Bojack have it. Man. I'll never get over that. 'You can't keep doing shitty things, and then feel bad about yourself, like that makes it okay. You need to BE. BETTER.'

I like the show but I actually read it as very indulgent.
