Was Lars Von Trier the one who made a movie about how the women accusing him of sexual harassment really wanted it and it wasn't his fault he was so sexy? Or the one who said the Nazis weren't really that bad if you think about it?

I was told that Breaking The Waves is a masterpiece & therefore everything I'd heard about him was bollocks. 0.5 of that was true

How do you feel about Melancholia?

I can say that as much as I agree with the sentiment Hulk shared, that Melancholia is the one LVT film I genuinely enjoy on both a visual and story level.

I own Melancholia on Blu Ray and I think that's the only film of his I care to watch.

I can understand that, still I love Von Trier and I do consider Melancholia to be a masterpiece, and both Dogville and Dancer in the Dark to be some of the most effective films about the darkness of the world I've seen.

God, that is so spot on, but I do think LVT stumbled his way into making one or two genuinely good films.
