Nine episodes into The Leftovers and this might be the strangest show I've ever seen when it comes to understanding human behavior?
I think it explores grief beautifully, I don't think it nails it. But that's a complicated thing in the difference between understanding something on a cerebral level and a dramatization level.

I suppose, but there are different levels of grief, and all kinds of ways to express it, the variety of which seen in the various characters. What's interesting about season 1 is it's the rawest and most "dramatic" version of a world wide grief bomb, one mired in ambiguity.

I've seen people act just like all these characters in various ways to grief. Yeah, it's heightened for sure, the but the state of their world is heightened. But I do think that mirror on grief is nearly spotless. Not perfect, for sure, but close.

I also happened to like how Lindelof handles his character drama, so perhaps I'm more bias than normal. And the subject matter of grief and belief is like my artistic red meat. Look forward to seeing your thoughts on season 2 and 3 though, for sure.
