Essentially, he was a libertarian conservative with a pro-small business, pro-family, pro-immigration, pro-freedom, anti-regulation bent and a desire to keep tradition alive without encasing it in museum glass.

Briefly: The take was from 2014, when it was an open question how conservatives would respond to the Obama era. I didn’t say Bourdain was a Republican, but that they could learn from him. Thanks to all who disagreed with the take agreeably.
