All the gross, ugly attempts to soften the edges of what she was selling are why I just could care less about decorum. It's always about intent. And I'm still furious this even got to here.

It's almost like the thing I wrote about yesterday about the crass language vs. politeness has come to specific light with today's news. Hurray.

I’m in the UK and I remember the domestic violence storyline with Jackie being so powerful. That the show came back, that it became this…

maybe it’s because english is not my native language, but it was not easy to read. It seems like full of private joke or we need to already know a LOT of meta-context (really: contexts about the context of events).

hey! Loved the piece. not sure if this is the place for it, but there's a small typo at the end about "the lesson *t*or racists" and I just wanted to bring it to your attention! Keep on keepin' on with the great reviews and essays.

This type of subtle racist decorum is all too ingrained in our society. My high school history class in Missouri taught me that the Civil War was because of states rights and not slavery. If we said slavery we’d get docked points. It’s there, and it’s far too accepted.

Which is another reason to fight it, every step of the way, every tooth and nail.
