But I doubt it’ll make it harder. Besides kernel exploits are a thing. Also highly doubt Apple will remove lightning port functionality from the MagSafe charger
If it shows up as it's own device couldn't apple theoretically put some form of security chip in the cable?

Theoretically yes. But there’ll definitely be loopholes similar to chrckrain’s exploit where they can take advantage of something in the chip. But yes, if they decided to add a chip, that’ll be one more step in order to jailbreak
