Not feasible at all, recyclers get denied. The further you are from the original owner, the less likely. But that’s not how it should be — the 35th owner has the same property rights as the first. Apple has no authority to be determiner of our property rights.
Sucks that apple doesn't even show the email or give you a way to contact the owner at all. Even found devices can't be returned

Previous owners shouldn’t be relevant when devices are legally acquired. Plus, the previous owners are big companies that don’t care — they didn’t care enough to log out, they certainly aren’t going to respond to a request.

big companies not using MDM have same problem. i saw it often they have pool of loaner ipad because not every employee needs one all the time. Just write employee id and pick one from the locker. occasionally someone forget to log out. Big company will not bother to find out who
