In 1998 Theresa May voted against lower the age of consent for gay relationships to 16, in 2002 she voted no to allowing homosexual couples to adopt, in 2003 was absent for vote on the repeal of section 28, saying “most parents want the comfort of knowing Section 28 is there”.https://twitter.com/theresa_may/status/1129281953776197632 …
Many of these things she voted on in this way more than once. She also voted twice to refuse IVF treatment to lesbian couples in 2008, supporting the idea that couples having IVF should only be a M/F partnership. This was rejected. #IDAHOBIT
Of the three main political party leaders, both Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn where absent for the historic vote to repeal Section 28. Vince Cable, leader of the Lib Dems, *was* there and voted for repeal. #IDAHOBIT

It’s so obvious that The Maybot doesn’t write her own tweets.
I agree it shouldn’t be forgotten she behaved that way, and that her current ‘support’ feels empty. But I also think people should be allowed to change their mind, and that the power of a country’s leader publicly declaring their support for minorities cannot be underestimated.
I think you mean "cannot be overestimated". 
I suppose she might have seen the error of her ways, but most likely she’s just a dogmatic hypocrite.
