It's funny cos first of all I thought, "what utter bullshit. Of course you should be able to acknowledge your status as a Dr without being charged with immodesty." But then I thought, I never put "MA Cantab" after my name cos I'd feel like an utter twat. I shouldn't, but I would.

But then - I don't feel I "earned" my "MA Cantab" so it's not the same thing. You earned your PHD. So it's not the same. (Sorry, I seem to be thinking aloud here)
