D.C. Health director LaQuandra Nesbitt: "In recent days, we have begun to notice a steady trend in the number of new cases, which can be indicative of us beginning to reach our peak or flattening the curve." She cautions it's too early to say cases are on decline

Comments at reopen D.C. town hall makes a May reopening seem unlikely. D.C. health director says the most stringent option before city officials is a three month extension of current closures. The "less stringent" option is reopening in two or three months in phases

Mayor Bowser on lifting restrictions after May 15: "Don’t anticipate in either case a light switch going on and everything going back to normal. At that point, we would likely be only recommending, if we are able, some small portion of activity coming back.”

          1) In 1918, they shot people in the street for not wearing masks 2) Yeah... they had great big seething riots, civil disobedience, and ended up at herd immunity anyways. It's not exactly a happy precedent.

Really helpful! Do you understand the N95 and face mask percentages? Is DC doing really well on that metric or really poorly?

Are they tracking when the swab was taken versus reported? I wasn’t counted for two weeks because of testing delays (thanks private labs), but I just hope they are taking that into consideration.

The lockdown is very likely to be extended because they want to both expand testing to more populations and see a decrease in cases for 14 days straight.
