Broadway isn't for the "Average American" and few feel comfortable pointing out how Hamilton packages Hip Hop culture for elite consumption

So I find all of this incredibly interesting, especially the response from people Broadway continues to tell are not welcomed there

Representation matters, yes, and shows like Hamilton try to push people towards more inclusive artistic consumption but it isn't enough

And many of the "middle American working class" that loves Trump/Pence won't set foot into a Broadway theatre in their lifetimes

Because they can't afford it

So calling for an actual boycott is a gesture of solidarity that causes them no tangible loss; they were never going to go anyway

And while they were the ones buying up the NWA and a Tupac albums, they now decide that Hamilton is "ghetto" and "racist"

Bc it's not abt Pence. It's the reality that they envy those who can access this show knowing their condition makes it impossible
