Like it's accidental that I ended up liking videogames. I'm not expected or welcome in that crowd. But I play anyway. Almost like a secret.

I can name a lot of bigotries that make people like me unwelcome. I know we've been trying to tackle this problem internally for a while.

I know it's not new. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. I know it's an established, serious, & well-documented problem.

I still can't help feeling dismal abt it. I feel disillusioned. A feeling like meeting your heroes & finding out they're terrible people.

I'm a big YT fan too. I remember when LP's were fairly new & I was so excited for the chance to connect w gaming YTers.

I still kinda like some LP's because it's a way to help the loneliness of feeling like you're alone in your interests. But I'm v selective.

Many I had to stop, as the players freely threw around terms like "faggot" & gendered slurs, reestablishing that I don't belong there.

@AmalAlHazred there's a list on FemHype I believe where they're trying to curate and compile streamers who don't pander to that kinda crap.
