Views are not affected by this change
They can be if someone had a monetized channel and they no longer do. I've seen the stats of videos that got demonetized from other creators and their views dropped like a block of cement in a lake.

This got me thinking, what if small channels have been exposing some truths, began gaining momentum, and this is some secret censorship? I'm not into conspiracy theories.
