My MetroCard ran out today and the machine at a station wasn't accepting cards. I didn't have cash. A couple of cops were standing right there. I asked them if they'd give me shit if I jumped the turnstile. "Did you rob a bank? Shoot someone? Then no."

What's the rub? I never said I didn't pay the fare.

Seems they hate the press for bringing up truth. While you are cabable of walking to another station entrance, not all New Yorkers can accomplish that feat with ease. Victim blaming at its best. The machine ought to be in working order. The fail rate is too high.

If the agency you run loses revenue because it cannot or will not maintain the infrastructure to collect that money, a great option would be for you to submit your resignation. You fail at the most basic stuff, then you come on Twitter and fail at communications too.
