do you know what the different towers stand for - the department of U,V, W,X,Y. Z etc

As far as I know, the towers commemorate foundational incidents in American History, from the landing of the pilgrims to the death of Abraham Lincoln, whose struggle against slavery seems to be the thematic glue that unifies the composition of the painting.
